Two Lakh Applicants For 5,000 MHADA Homes In Thane City And Vasai

September 12, 2025: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority’s (MHADA) Konkan Board has received an overwhelming response to its latest housing lottery, with 1,74,168 applications submitted by the final day. Of these, 1,39,123 applicants have paid the deposit amount, confirming their eligibility.

The lottery covers 77 plots in Oros and Kulgaon-Badlapur, along with 5,285 flats built under various housing schemes across Thane city and district, as well as Vasai in Palghar district. The draft list of accepted applications will be published on September 22.

Among the flats on offer, 565 are available under the 20 per cent comprehensive scheme, 3,002 under the 15 per cent integrated city housing scheme, 1,677 under the MHADA Konkan Mandal Housing Scheme and scattered units, while 41 flats fall under the MHADA Konkan Mandal Scheme offering 50 per cent affordable housing.

The registration and application submission process, which initially had a shorter timeline, was extended until September  12 due to high demand.

The draw is expected to generate keen interest among homebuyers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with officials highlighting the mix of affordable and mid-range housing options as a major attraction.
