Long-Pending Uran Allotments Resolved As CIDCO Distributes 98 Developed Plots

September 26, 2025: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has taken a significant step toward resolving long-pending allotments in Uran taluka by allotting 98 developed plots to project-affected persons (PAPs) under its 12.5% scheme. The distribution, held on September 25 through a computerized lottery, covered a total area of 79,210 sq m.

The decision was formally approved during a CIDCO board meeting chaired by Asim Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary. The meeting was also attended by Vijay Singhal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, along with other board members and senior officials.

Under the 12.5% scheme, land acquired for the Navi Mumbai project from private owners in Thane, Panvel, and Uran talukas is compensated with developed plots. This mechanism ensures landholders benefit from urban development while contributing to the city’s growth. Earlier this year, on June 11, CIDCO allotted 19 hectares of developed plots to 319 landholders in the Dronagiri node, marking another milestone in its rehabilitation and compensation efforts.

Addressing the recent allotments in Uran, a CIDCO spokesperson explained the significance of the move: “In Uran taluka, allotments were pending for several landholders due to technical reasons, including mangroves, CRZ restrictions, marshy land, unacquired land, and encroachments. The latest allotment resolves an issue that has been pending since 2011. Infrastructure work on the allotted plots will begin soon.”

With this allotment, CIDCO has not only addressed a decade-long grievance of landowners but also strengthened confidence in its commitment to equitable development. The corporation emphasized that infrastructure development on the newly allotted plots will commence shortly, paving the way for planned growth and smoother integration of Uran into the wider Navi Mumbai project.
