Mumbai Metro Expands Digital Access: QR Ticketing Now Live On 14+ Apps Via ONDC

December 11, 2025: Mumbai’s Metro network has taken a major step toward seamless digital travel with the rollout of QR-code ticketing for Metro Lines 2A and 7 across more than 14 mobile apps. The upgrade, powered by the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), was launched on Wednesday by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Senior state leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister and MMRDA Chairman Eknath Shinde, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashwini Bhide, MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, and MMMOCL Managing Director Rubal Agarwal, were also present.

MMMOCL announced that commuters can now book QR tickets through Confirmtkt, EaseMyTrip, Highway Delite, Ixigo Trains, Miles n Kilometres (Telegram), Navi UPI, OneTicket, Redbus, RedRail, Tripozo, Tummoc, Vodafone Idea, WhatsApp (via Pelocal), and Yatri Railways. Paytm, Uber, and Rapido are expected to integrate the service soon, further widening access.

Officials said the expansion builds on the strong adoption of the Mumbai One app. “This expansion follows the rollout of the Mumbai One app, India’s first common mobility platform, which saw over 3.78 lakh downloads in two months. The ONDC-based system will simplify digital ticketing, reduce queues, and offer commuters the flexibility to choose their preferred booking app,” an official said.

The upgrade is expected to significantly ease travel on Metro Lines 2A and 7, which together handle around 3.5 lakh passengers daily. With 37 km of new routes on Lines 2B and 9 nearing launch, authorities noted that QR-based ticketing will be crucial to managing rising footfall and maintaining smooth operations as the network grows.

Officials added that the initiative strengthens Mumbai’s digital mobility framework, supporting a more integrated and commuter-friendly experience across the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
