Mumbai: Over 300 shaky buildings need to be vacated before rains

According to BMC rules, residents living in all buildings that are over 30 years old have to carry out a structural audit of the buildings. Those buildings that are found to be in the C1 category and can’t be repaired have to be vacated.

MUMBAI: With the monsoon around the corner, BMC has listed 337 buildings in its C-1 category which are in an extremely dangerous and dilapidated condition and have to be vacated by residents before that. The list includes 70 buildings in the city, 104 buildings in the eastern suburbs and 163 buildings in the western suburbs.
