The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation has been tasked with the construction of Metro Line 11 between Wadala and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at an investment of Rs8,739 crore. An order to this effect has been issued by the Urban Development Department to MMRC
Metro 11 will be the southern extension of Metro 4 (32.32km) and 4A (2.88km) as Metro 4 is currently under construction between Wadala and Kasarvadavali (on Ghodbunder Road, Thane), and Metro 4A is the northern extension from Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh. Metro Line 11, too, is being planned by the MMRDA, but hereon MMRC will be responsible for its execution
