Versova-Virar Sealink likely to be extended till Palghar

The sealink was earlier to be built by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). However, the project was later transferred to the MMRDA. The proposed Versova-Virar Sealink, which will be built by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), is likely to be extended till Palghar

Since the sealink was earlier proposed only till Virar, the MMRDA will carry out a pre-feasibility study of the extended portion. The Authority also plans to build an access-controlled sea link on this stretch, said an official. The sealink was earlier to be built by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). However, the project was later transferred to the MMRDA. Currently the MSDRC is building the Bandra-Versova Sealink
