The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) was slated to receive a total of 71.04 hectare of land for the establishment of car sheds for four metro routes. These routes included Metro 4, which connected Wadala to Kasarwadavli, Metro 4A, connecting Kasarwadavli to Gaimukh, Metro 10, running from Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk in Mira Road, and Metro 12, extending from Kalyan to Taloja.
It was mentioned that the designated plot in Survey No 30 had originally been owned by the state and used for agricultural purposes. This land had been leased to 167 lessees and was located in proximity to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Ghodbunder Road. The land’s purpose was to play a crucial role in the expansion of Mumbai’s metro network.
