The Metro Line 2B project, initially approved on October 25, 2016, with an estimated cost of Rs 10,896 crore, connects DN Nagar to Mandale. The route covers key areas such as SV Road, Bandra, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Kurla, Chembur, Mankhurd, and Mandale. The project includes the construction of a depot at Mandale.
During an executive committee meeting in February 2021, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) greenlit the extension of Metro Line 2B to Cheetah Camp and the construction of a new station in the area. This extension involves adding 1.02 km to the existing 23.64 km metro line, incurring an additional cost of Rs 205 crore.
