A major infrastructure development is set to transform Mumbai’s transportation landscape, as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) green-lights the Versova-Dahisar Link Road (VDLR) proposal. Valued at a staggering Rs 25,413 crore, the project promises to slash travel time by an impressive 70%.
The grand vision for the VDLR is a 22.93 km six-lane marvel, featuring arterial roads, underground tunnels, and flyovers. Among the most notable components is a 4.46 km connector to the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR). To accomplish this engineering feat, the BMC plans to deploy a tunnel boring machine (TBM) for specific phases of the project.
