The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has placed height limitations on the Dahisar neighborhood of Mumbai, citing the presence of high frequency radars as the reason for the delays in redevelopment projects. According to Dahisar-based BJP MLA Manisha Chaudhary, this has led to rehabilitation projects valued at ₹7,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore becoming blocked in Dahisar, affecting over 10,000 homes.
Chaudhary added that she has addressed a letter to Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, the TDP member and the new union minister of aviation. “I have made a request in writing to the minister of aviation asking him to step in and move the AAI radar sites beyond Dahisar. About 10,000 houses in my constituency are among the residents waiting for their old structures to be redeveloped,” Chaudhary told HT Digital.
