Due to the fact that both of the proposals it received were from Chinese manufacturers, Mumbai’s Transport and Infrastructure Development Authority has canceled the bidding process for the design, manufacturing, delivery, testing, and commissioning of ten monorail rakes.
The contract, which is for the procurement of ten rakes for the Jacob Circle-Wadala-Chembur monorail line, is estimated to be worth ₹500 crore. Instead, an Indian manufacturer will receive the contract from the city authorities. China Rail Road Corporation and Build Your Dream submitted bids for the current project, according to a press statement from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
