Mumbai: Real Estate Sector Celebrates the Approval of PMAY-U 2.0 by Ensuring Housing for All

Over the course of the next five years, this project seeks to give one crore urban poor and middle-class households financial support so they can build, buy, or rent homes at reasonable prices.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0 was approved by the Union Cabinet on Monday, and the real estate industry in the city believes this is a big step towards the government’s goal of housing for all in India. Over the course of the next five years, this project seeks to give one crore urban poor and middle-class households financial support so they can build, buy, or rent homes at reasonable prices.

While slum dwellers, SC/STs, minorities, widows, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups will receive special attention, other segments of society like safai karmi, street vendors, artisans, anganwadi workers, and slum/chawl residents will receive targeted support under this scheme.
