Mumbai To Get First-Ever Bird Park In Nahur By 2027

Mumbai is set to welcome its first dedicated bird park in Nahur, a unique urban attraction designed to bring people closer to nature. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched this initiative to enhance urban recreation while fostering wildlife conservation.

Planned to be completed by 2027 with a budget of Rs 100 crore, the park will feature 22 exotic bird species from across the globe. Designed to mimic natural habitats, it will include distinct zones representing Africa, Australia, and the USA, providing an immersive experience for visitors.

The park will include a variety of recreational and educational activities in addition to birding. In order to increase knowledge of avian species and conservation initiatives, visitors can explore jogging paths, basketball and volleyball courts, and an educational interpretation centre.

Meanwhile, Mumbai has already introduced another bird park in Gorai, which is home to 70 bird species housed in well-maintained enclosures. This facility offers a serene environment where both native and exotic birds can thrive, further reinforcing the city’s commitment to preserving biodiversity.

With its perfect balance of recreation, education, and conservation, the Nahur bird park is predicted to become a popular destination for families, students, and bird aficionados. Mumbai is making great progress towards environmentally responsible urban development with these projects, guaranteeing that nature will always be a vital aspect of city life.
