In a major boost to urban infrastructure in Navi Mumbai, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has completed a state-of-the-art multi-level car parking (MLCP) facility at its Kharkopar housing project in just 42 days—far ahead of schedule. The development falls under CIDCO’s ambitious ‘Mission-45’ initiative, showcasing its commitment to rapid and high-quality infrastructure delivery.
CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singhal highlighted the organisation’s core values of quality, speed, and safety during a recent gathering, saying the swift completion of the MLCP demonstrates CIDCO’s dedication to improving public amenities. Built under Package-4 of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) housing scheme, the parking structure is located at Plot No. 3 in Kharkopar and spans a total built-up area of approximately 1.43 lakh square feet.
Construction began on March 4, 2025, and was completed by April 17—three days ahead of its already aggressive deadline. Traditionally, such projects take around six months, but thanks to cutting-edge precast technology and the use of 2,212 precast components, the reinforced concrete structure was delivered in record time. The building includes a ground floor designed as a community centre and six upper floors dedicated to vehicle parking, with a total capacity of 365 cars.
This facility is expected to significantly ease the parking crunch in Kharkopar and surrounding CIDCO housing societies, especially as personal vehicle ownership rises in urban regions. It also complements CIDCO’s ongoing effort to deliver 67,000 affordable homes across Navi Mumbai under PMAY. With modern amenities, strong connectivity, and now an advanced parking solution, CIDCO’s housing developments continue to offer an attractive alternative to private sector projects—improving both convenience and quality of life for residents.
