PM Modi Flags Off Bikaner–Bandra Express: Route, Stops, Timings & Fares Explained

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, 22nd May 2025, officially flagged off the inaugural run of a new express train connecting Bikaner in Rajasthan to Bandra Terminus in Mumbai. This new service is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between western Rajasthan and the financial capital of India.

The special inaugural train, numbered 04707, will cover a distance of 1,213 kilometres in approximately 23 hours and 25 minutes. The train departed Deshnok at 10:30 AM, reached Bikaner at 11:15 AM, and left Bikaner station at 12:35 PM. It is scheduled to arrive at Bandra Terminus, Mumbai, at 12:00 PM the following day, Friday.

On its maiden journey, the Bikaner–Mumbai Express will halt at 19 key stations, including Deshnoke, Nokha, Nagaur, Merta Road Junction, Jodhpur, Pali Marwar, Marwar Junction, Falna, Abu Road, Palanpur, Mahesana, Sabarmati BG, Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali.

The inaugural train comprises 18 coaches, including 16 Third AC Economy (3E) coaches and two power cars. The fare for passengers travelling in the AC 3 Economy class is set at ₹1,365.

The regular commercial service of the Bikaner to Bandra Terminus Express is expected to commence next week, offering a reliable and affordable option for travellers along this busy route.

The launch of this train service is seen as a move to improve regional rail infrastructure and ease long-distance travel for residents of Rajasthan and Maharashtra. It also reflects Indian Railways’ continued efforts to expand its network and offer enhanced passenger services.
