Romell Group convened a press meet on Saturday to unveil its flagship cluster redevelopment project—United VI—in Andheri West, Mumbai. The session was addressed by Domnic Romell, President of CREDAI-MCHI and Director of Romell Group, who shared insights into how the project aligns with the city’s Housing Policy 2025 and represents a forward-looking approach to urban redevelopment.

The initiative consolidates six ageing housing societies—Gurukripa CHSL, Blue Haven CHSL, Ekveera CHSL, and Sunder Park C&D CHSL—into one cohesive redevelopment plan. These buildings, all over 51 years old, occupy an area of approximately 6,800 square meters. Over time, the structures had become unsafe and were no longer viable for individual redevelopment, making collective action a necessity.

United VI addresses these challenges through a smart, resident-focused approach. Homeowners will receive up to 50 percent additional space, enhanced layouts, and premium fittings. Romell Group will bear the cost of stamp duty and GST, easing the financial burden on residents. Full legal assistance and relocation support will be provided to ensure a seamless transition.

Domnic Romell, during his address, remarked: “It is our unity that has kept us going. Now, we are not I, we are we.”

The redevelopment incorporates a host of sustainability measures, including solar panels, a sewage treatment plant (STP), landscaped gardens, green open areas, a clubhouse, gymnasium, and rooftop recreational spaces—blending nature with luxury in one of Mumbai’s busiest suburbs.

Another notable benefit for residents is the conversion of land tenure from leasehold to freehold, ensuring long-term ownership value. Each new home will also come with a dedicated car parking space.

Representatives from all four societies, along with legal advisors from M/s. Solicis Lex Advisory, were present at the event to commemorate the launch.

Concluding the session, one of the society’s President emphasised the importance of community-driven progress and collaborative urban growth.
You all must be thinking this as a redevelopment project, but this is a different kind of redevelopment. It’s a smart redevelopment with the collaboration of societies.”

United VI is being positioned not just as a redevelopment project, but as a model for future urban living—where safety, sustainability, and shared vision form the foundation for a vibrant, inclusive Mumbai.

The unveiling of United VI sets a strong precedent for empathetic, sustainable redevelopment. It showcases what’s possible when developers, policymakers, and communities collaborate to reshape Mumbai’s housing landscape. With modern infrastructure, eco-friendly design, and inclusive planning, United VI raises the bar for a more resilient and future-ready city.
