New Rs 400 Cr Road To Improve Dahej–Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway Connectivity

August 5, 2025: In a major boost to industrial connectivity and regional development, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel laid the foundation stone for the four-laning and strengthening of the 46-kilometre Amod–Roza–Tankariya–Muller Road in Bharuch district. The project, valued at Rs 400 crore, is expected to significantly enhance access between the Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway and the Dahej Industrial Cluster, easing congestion and facilitating smoother trade and transport.

During a public function organised by the district administration, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects worth Rs 637 crore. This comprehensive package includes Rs 576 cr for road upgrades, as well as infrastructure for primary health centres, new school classrooms, taluka sports complexes, and underground drainage systems to enhance living standards and civic amenities in the region.

Mr Patel reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving the ‘Ease of Living’ and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for accelerating Gujarat’s development through a governance model focused on infrastructure, local manufacturing, and people-centric policies. Highlighting the transformation of the Bharuch-Ankleshwar-Jhagadia-Dahej corridor into a robust industrial zone, he described Bharuch as India’s chemical capital, offering employment opportunities for youth across Gujarat and beyond.

He cited major ongoing initiatives such as the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar, the Dahej PCPIR, an LNG terminal, and the Tribal Industrial and Seafood Parks in Valia, all contributing to the district’s growing industrial base. The Chief Minister endorsed the ‘Vocal for Local’ movement and hailed Digital India’s role in driving economic growth.

He announced Bharuch’s inclusion in the emerging Surat Economic Region identified by NITI Aayog, and aligned the district’s progress with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. During the event, benefits worth ₹51 lakh were distributed to local beneficiaries under various welfare schemes, while leaders and officials praised the district’s strides in development.
