The Ajni–Pune Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 881 kilometres in approximately 12 hours, making it the fastest train on this route, ahead of the Pune Humsafar and Azad Hind Express. Operating as train numbers 26101 and 26102, the service will run six days a week, excluding Tuesdays from Pune and Mondays from Ajni.

During its journey, the train will halt at ten stations: Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Shegaon, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, and Daund Chord Line. The southbound train (26102) will depart Ajni at 09:50 and arrive in Pune at 21:50 on the same day, commencing from 12 August 2025.

Passengers can expect modern amenities such as fully air-conditioned coaches with automatic temperature control that adjusts based on occupancy. The ergonomically designed seats ensure comfort for long-distance travel, while LED and ambient lighting create a pleasant environment. Large panoramic windows offer scenic views throughout the journey. The train is also equipped with automatic sliding doors and bio-vacuum toilets.

Safety remains a priority with fire detection and suppression systems installed throughout. CCTV surveillance monitors all coaches, supported by intercom systems for emergency communication. The regenerative braking system helps save up to 30% energy, while the dual suspension system ensures a smooth and comfortable ride even at high speeds.

The Ajni–Pune Vande Bharat Express promises to be a significant upgrade in Maharashtra’s rail connectivity, offering speed, comfort, and safety for passengers travelling between Nagpur and Pune.
