September 17, 2025: Mumbai’s real estate market is poised for a significant uplift as Phase 1 of Metro Line 2B, running between Mandale and Diamond Garden, approaches completion. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) confirmed that all mandatory rectifications are complete and inspections by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) have been conducted.
Spanning 5.39 km with five stations, this section is part of the larger DN Nagar–Mandale corridor aimed at improving east–west connectivity and easing traffic congestion. Passenger operations are expected to begin by December 2025, with the full line scheduled for 2027.
Industry experts believe the metro will spark demand in Chembur, Mankhurd, Wadala, and adjoining nodes, driving up property prices, rental yields, and new housing launches. Developers anticipate heightened traction for transit-oriented projects, while investors are expected to benefit from stronger rental appreciation and enhanced connectivity.
