Lokmanya Tilak Express To Be Extended To Rajgir, New Ticket Checking Measures In Danapur Division

September 20, 2025: The Indian Railway Board has approved the extension of the Lokmanya Tilak Express to Rajgir, with the timetable already released. However, the East Central Railway will shortly confirm the exact date from which services will commence. At present, the train runs between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai and Patna.

Announcing the development on social media platform X, Aadhar Raj, Assistant Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) of the Danapur division, said the extended service will provide improved connectivity for passengers in Bihar.

According to the new schedule, Train No. 13201 (Rajgir–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express) will depart Rajgir at 20:45 hrs, halting at Nalanda (21:00 hrs), Bihar Sharif (21:20 hrs), Bakhtiyarpur (21:52 hrs), Fatuha (22:15 hrs), Patna Sahib (22:28 hrs) and Patna Junction (23:45 hrs), before arriving at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 10:50 hrs the following day.

In the return direction, Train No. 13202 (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Rajgir Express) will depart Mumbai at 14:45 hrs, reaching Patna Junction at 00:10 hrs, with onward halts at Patna Sahib (00:35 hrs), Fatuha (00:47 hrs), Bakhtiyarpur (01:20 hrs), Bihar Sharif (01:53 hrs), Nalanda (02:11 hrs) and Rajgir at 03:00 hrs.

Meanwhile, the Danapur division has introduced new measures to strengthen its ticket checking system. In an order issued on Monday, divisional authorities appointed new Chief Inspector of Tickets (CIT) in-charges for key stations.

The appointments include Arvind Kumar Hembram (Jamalpur), Mahendra Chaudhary (Kiul), Nirbhay Paswan (Barauni), H.K. Das (Rajendra Nagar Terminal), Mani Baraik (Patna Junction), Shankar Kumar (Danapur), M.B. Ojha (Pataliputra), C.P. Yadav (Ara) and Sanjay Kumar (Buxar).

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Abhinav Siddharth has instructed that proper handover and takeover reports be filed, with any operational issues reported immediately. The move is aimed at ensuring stricter monitoring and greater transparency in ticket checking across the division.
