September 24, 2025: With the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIAL) set to commence operations on September 30, 2025, residential demand in the surrounding region has surged dramatically.
In response, NMIAL has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Wadhwa Group to provide 405 ready-to-move-in flats at its flagship integrated township, Wadhwa Wise City in Panvel. The units, to be made available from October 2025, are earmarked for airport staff and their families. The arrangement underscores the symbiotic relationship between mega infrastructure developments in the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) and the real estate market.
Spread across 450 acres, Wadhwa Wise City is the first and largest integrated township within NAINA. With over 3,000 Occupation Certificate (OC)-ready homes, the township has already seen rapid uptake. Beyond residential units, the development includes educational institutions such as Fr. Agnel School offering the CBSE curriculum, retail outlets, healthcare facilities, landscaped gardens and leisure amenities.
Once operational, NMIAL is expected to accommodate 20 million passengers annually in its initial phase, scaling up to 90 million passengers per year over time. The airport is complemented by several transformative infrastructure projects: the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, reducing travel time between South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai to 30 minutes; the Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 and proposed Mumbai Metro Line 8; the Ulwe Coastal Road; the Thane–Belapur elevated corridor; and the Panvel–Karjat suburban rail line.
Commenting on the tie-up, Sandeep Sonthalia, CEO of The Wadhwa Group, said: “The inauguration of NMIAL is a landmark for the region. We are witnessing heightened demand for apartments, bungalows and plots, and are delighted to collaborate with NMIAL to meet this need.”
As Navi Mumbai evolves into one of India’s fastest-growing hubs, Wadhwa Wise City is positioning itself as a benchmark for integrated urban living.
