First Look Inside Worli’s Science Centre Station As Mumbai Awaits Metro Line 3 Launch On Oct 8

October 06, 2025: With just days to go before its grand inauguration, Mumbai Metro Line 3—also known as the Aqua Line—has unveiled the first inside visuals of the Science Centre Metro Station in Worli. The newly released images showcase the station’s sleek interiors, spacious platforms, well-marked signage, and modern design that align with Mumbai’s evolving transit landscape.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the final Worli–Cuffe Parade stretch of the 33.5-kilometre Colaba–Bandra–SEEPZ corridor on October 8, marking a major milestone in Mumbai’s journey toward seamless underground connectivity. Once operational, the entire Aqua Line will serve as the city’s first fully underground metro route, providing faster, greener, and safer travel across the financial capital.

The Science Centre station, strategically located in Worli, offers convenient access to prominent landmarks including the Nehru Science Centre, Nehru Planetarium, Mahalaxmi Temple, Haji Ali Dargah, and the High Street Phoenix Palladium mall.

In a post on X, Mumbai Metro 3 described the Science Centre station as a “gateway to science, heritage and excitement,” inviting commuters to explore the many cultural and recreational attractions linked through the new route.

The project’s completion follows a phase-wise rollout. The first section—from Aarey to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)—was inaugurated in October 2024, followed by the BKC to Worli stretch in May 2025, which saw significant ridership. Once the final segment opens, Metro Line 3 will connect six business hubs, 30 office zones, 12 educational institutions, 11 hospitals, and 25 cultural and religious landmarks, while integrating with major suburban rail stations like Mumbai Central, Churchgate, and CSMT—transforming how Mumbai moves.
