October 08, 2025: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is advancing plans for the long-awaited Navi Mumbai Aerocity, with the master plan expected to be finalised within the next three months, according to reports.
Spanning 667 acres adjacent to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), the Aerocity is set to include residential, commercial, retail, industrial, and mixed-use developments. CIDCO is in the process of appointing a consultant to prepare the master plan and provide guidance on project transactions.
In addition to the Aerocity, CIDCO is developing proposals for an Educity, a Medicity, and an International Corporate Park within a 10 km radius of NMIA. Together, these projects aim to create a comprehensive hub that integrates education, healthcare, aviation-linked businesses, and global enterprises. The Maharashtra government has fast-tracked these initiatives as part of NMIA’s commercialisation strategy.
Of the Aerocity’s total 667 acres, approximately 123 acres each are likely to be allocated for residential, commercial, and retail purposes, with the remaining area planned for mixed-use and industrial projects. Officials noted that these complementary developments are expected to enhance real estate prospects across Navi Mumbai, generating new employment opportunities and stimulating business growth.
“These complementary developments are expected to boost real estate demand across Navi Mumbai and position the airport precinct as a major hub for investment and urban growth,” an official stated.
Industry experts believe the Aerocity will significantly reshape the region’s urban and real estate landscape. With the inauguration of NMIA scheduled this week, the Aerocity project represents a crucial milestone in Navi Mumbai’s evolution, marking the next phase of the city’s transformation into a modern, integrated urban centre.
The Aerocity plan is poised to make Navi Mumbai a strategic destination for investment, employment, and sustainable urban development, creating a vibrant ecosystem around India’s newest international aviation gateway.
