October 14, 2025: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday visited the under-construction Bilimora station of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project to review ongoing construction and track-laying work, according to an official statement.
During the visit, Vaishnaw inspected various components of the station, including the façade, internal spaces, and platform areas. He also reviewed the development of modern passenger amenities such as the waiting lounge, nursery, restrooms, and retail outlets designed to enhance commuter comfort and convenience.
Bilimora is among the 12 stations planned along India’s first high-speed rail corridor, stretching 508 kilometres between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The project, being implemented by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), aims to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities while introducing world-class rail infrastructure to India’s transport network.
Officials accompanying the minister briefed him on the progress of construction activities, quality control measures, and timelines for completion. The visit underscores the ministry’s focus on expediting key infrastructure milestones and ensuring that the project meets global standards in design, safety, and passenger experience.
