Civic Body Issues Notice To Actor-Politician Khesari Lal Yadav Over ‘Illegal’ Construction In Thane

November 07, 2025: The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has issued a notice to Bhojpuri actor and politician Khesari Lal Yadav for alleged unauthorised construction at his Mira Road residence in Thane district, officials said on Thursday, as reported by PTI.

According to civic officials, the notice pertains to the “unauthorised installation of iron angles and a tin-sheet shed” on the property. “The notice instructs the owner to remove the illegal additions. If the encroachment is not cleared voluntarily, the civic body will proceed with demolition as per municipal laws, and the cost will be recovered from the owner,” an official stated.

Residents said the property has remained locked for several weeks, with many claiming that Yadav’s family has travelled to Bihar to assist him during his election campaign.

Yadav, a prominent Bhojpuri film star and singer, is contesting the Chapra Assembly constituency in Bihar on a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ticket — a seat held by the BJP’s C. N. Gupta since 2015. Attempts to contact Yadav for comment were unsuccessful, PTI reported.

The actor joined the RJD in October, alongside his wife Chanda Yadav, amid speculation that she might also receive a party ticket. Their induction was announced by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during a late-night press conference at party president Lalu Prasad Yadav’s residence.

Meanwhile, polling was underway across 121 Assembly constituencies in Bihar on Thursday, with 53.77% of the 3.75 crore electorate casting their votes by 3 pm. Over 1,000 candidates are in the fray. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha alleged that RJD supporters attacked his convoy in Lakhisarai. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that the high turnout of women voters was an encouraging sign for the NDA.
