Union Minister Piyush Goyal Unveils Eco-Friendly Sculpture, Opens Green View Garden In Borivali

November 17, 2025: Union Minister and North Mumbai MP Piyush Goyal inaugurated a series of development works in Borivali on Sunday, including an eco-friendly sculpture and the newly beautified Green View Garden. The sculpture, conceptualised by the Shri Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal—an organisation with an 80-year-old tradition—and funded through the MPLADS (MP Local Area Development Scheme), was unveiled at Shri Ganesh Mandir Chowk.

Explaining the symbolism behind the artwork, Goyal said the sculpture portrays a woman embracing a tree, reflecting themes of environmental harmony and cultural pride. “The sculpture signifies Indian culture, which we need to not only preserve but showcase; it has been attracting citizens’ admiration,” he said.

At the opening of Green View Garden, Goyal highlighted the importance of accessible open spaces in a densely populated city like Mumbai. He noted that the garden’s amenities—gym equipment, walking tracks, yoga zones, and social interaction areas—play a crucial role in strengthening physical and mental well-being. He urged residents to adopt a healthier lifestyle, saying such spaces align with the Prime Minister’s Fit India Movement.

Emphasising public participation, Goyal added, “Real change will be achieved only when citizens come together to keep public places clean, plant trees, and avoid plastic waste. Development must be achieved through combined efforts of the government and society.”

Goyal also highlighted the development momentum in North Mumbai, citing improvements in education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and major infrastructure projects, including the Coastal Road and new metro corridors. “With Bappa’s blessings, the development of North Mumbai has gained major momentum,” he said.

Commenting on national politics, he referred to the recent Bihar election results as a mandate for development-focused governance. He also announced free ICU ambulances for North Mumbai, with priority for economically weaker patients, and encouraged voluntary contributions from those who can afford the service.
