CIDCO Pushes Ahead With Large-Scale “International Educity” In Navi Mumbai

December 10, 2025: Kundevahal in Panvel will soon host a 100-hectare “International Educity”, as CIDCO has fast-tracked land development and started the e-tendering process. The project aims to transform the area into a global education hub, combining world-class education, healthcare, sports, and skill-development facilities.

CIDCO’s Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal called Educity a “ground-breaking initiative” that will offer Indian students “the opportunity to learn from globally renowned foreign universities and academic experts,” while nurturing a multicultural, knowledge-driven environment.

Under this plan, over 10 international universities are expected to set up campuses within Educity, a first-of-its-kind cluster in India. So far, five global institutions — University of York, University of Aberdeen, University of Western Australia, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Istituto Europeo di Design — have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Letters of Intent to establish their campuses here.

The project site is strategically located about 3–4 km from the forthcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, with strong access via the Multi-modal Corridor, the Samruddhi Highway, Mumbai–Pune Expressway, and nearby business and residential hubs, including Aero-City, NAINA, and Kharghar Corporate Park.

Work has begun by levelling land in four parcels; the first two — covering 50 hectares — are already under development. Approach roads of 45-metre and 30-metre width are being constructed to connect the Educity directly to NH 348 (NH–4B/JNPT Road). A proposed Metro Line M-24 will later link the Educity and Aero-City to Panvel Railway Terminus and the airport for public transport connectivity.

By integrating global-standard higher education, research, sports, and civic amenities at one campus — and offering international degrees within India — CIDCO aims to make Navi Mumbai a premier destination for higher learning and development.
