December 11, 2025: CIDCO has launched an ambitious plan to establish India’s first multi-purpose indoor mega arena in Navi Mumbai, issuing an Expression of Interest (EOI) to attract global partners for the landmark project. Envisioned as a premier destination for large-format entertainment, the proposed venue will host concerts, international sports fixtures, cultural showcases and cutting-edge immersive events, marking a major leap in the city’s cultural and economic aspirations.
Designed on the lines of world-famous venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York and the O₂ Arena in London, the facility is planned with a seating capacity of 20,000 and an overall standing capacity of 25,000, positioning it as the largest indoor arena in the country. The EOI document will be available from 9 December, and interested parties have until 5 pm on 30 December to submit their proposals.
CIDCO Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal said the development is a transformative step for the region. “By initiating this project, we are not just building a venue; we are laying the foundation for a cultural and economic movement that will put Navi Mumbai on the global entertainment map,” he said.
The location benefits from Navi Mumbai’s rapidly evolving infrastructure, including the Atal Setu Trans-Harbour Link, high-speed rail corridors, the expanding Metro network and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. These connectivity upgrades are expected to significantly enhance accessibility for both domestic and international visitors. The city’s existing sports and tourism ecosystem—featuring the FIFA-compliant sports complex in Kharghar, an 18-hole golf course and the Nerul Jetty—further strengthens its readiness to host world-class events.
With anticipated global collaborations, the mega arena is expected to fuel job creation, attract tourism and broaden opportunities for business and cultural exchange, reaffirming Navi Mumbai’s growing status as a hub for major entertainment experiences.
