BJP Unveils Development-Focused Manifesto For Ulhasnagar Civic Polls

January 13, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released its manifesto for the forthcoming Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation elections, presenting a wide-ranging plan centred on infrastructure upgrades, redevelopment and improved civic services. The document was jointly unveiled by BJP MLA Kumar Ailani, district president Rajesh Vadhrya and election in-charge Pradeep Ramchandani.

Acknowledging Ulhasnagar’s role as a major trading centre that draws shoppers from across the region, the party has prioritised measures to address traffic congestion and enhance facilities for traders and visitors. Among the key proposals is the construction of an underground parking facility at Gol Maidan, aimed at easing congestion in busy market areas. The manifesto also promises the introduction of battery-operated vehicles to transport shoppers from parking zones to commercial streets.

To improve safety and curb anti-social activities, the BJP has pledged to install CCTV cameras across the city. A dedicated coordination committee is also proposed to improve communication between traders and the municipal corporation, with the aim of resolving issues more efficiently.

On civic infrastructure, the party has reiterated its commitment to concretising all city roads and strengthening internal connectivity. A major environmental and public health promise involves relocating the existing dumping ground outside the city limits. The manifesto further outlines plans for an elevated road along the Kalyan–Ambernath corridor, stretching from Shanti Nagar to the Sai Baba Temple, to ease traffic pressure on a key arterial route.

Another significant proposal is the development of a ring road connecting Camp Number 1 to Camp Number 5 without demolishing residential houses, ensuring smoother vehicular movement while protecting homes. The BJP has also proposed linking Ulhasnagar with Metro Line 14 and Metro Line 5 to improve regional connectivity and encourage public transport use. Widening the Shahad flyover into a four-lane structure has been promised to address rising traffic volumes.

Housing and redevelopment form a central part of the manifesto, with commitments to provide homes to slum residents under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and redevelop unsafe and illegal structures. Additional pledges include modern waste management through the ‘Waste to Wealth’ model, women-focused initiatives, improved education and healthcare services, and transparent governance.

Party leaders said the manifesto outlines a roadmap to transform Ulhasnagar into a well-connected and economically active city, and assured voters that the promises would be implemented if the BJP comes to power.
