January 27, 2026: As part of the ongoing road concretisation project, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has prompted the Mumbai Police to enforce a three-month traffic restriction on Padmavati Road in the Dindoshi area. The measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety amid heavy machinery movement and construction-related congestion.
According to the Mumbai Police, the concretisation work is taking place on Padmavati Road, between Aarey Junction, Dudh Sagar, and General Arun Kumar Vaidya Marg, under the Dindoshi Traffic Division’s jurisdiction. “Traffic congestion has been observed on this stretch due to ongoing construction, resulting in severe delays,” the notification said.
Traffic restrictions were imposed under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic (Western Suburbs) Ajit Borhade. Padmavati Road has been converted into a one-way stretch for vehicles heading towards General Arun Kumar Vaidya Marg. Vehicles will not be permitted to enter from the opposite direction.
To facilitate uninterrupted traffic, both carriageways from Siba Junction to A.K. Vaidya Marg have been designated No Parking Zones for all vehicles. Drivers heading towards Siba Junction from General Arun Kumar Vaidya Marg are advised to take an alternative route: proceed to Oberoi Junction, turn left, and follow the designated pathway as directed by traffic police.
The restrictions will be effective on an experimental basis for three months. The public has been requested to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere to on-ground instructions. “Anyone violating the traffic order may face legal action under the Motor Vehicles Act and other applicable laws,” the official notice stated.
Authorities have emphasized that these measures are temporary and necessary to accelerate road concretisation while minimizing hazards for commuters. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly and use alternate routes to avoid delays.
