SCIPL Strengthens Its Role In Sustainable Public Infrastructure Development

As India increases investments in large-scale public and institutional infrastructure, Swadeshi Civil Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (SCIPL) continues its involvement in the sector, approaching five decades of operations. Founded in 1977, the company has been engaged in public infrastructure development across India, with its work characterised by long-term leadership continuity, an emphasis on sustainability in execution, and established organisational practices focused on workforce retention and development.

Over nearly 47 years, SCIPL has delivered a wide range of public and institutional projects, including court complexes, hospitals, educational campuses, flyovers, stadium infrastructure, transport facilities, and government buildings. The company has consistently partnered with leading central and state government agencies such as CPWD, PWD, NCRTC, HSCC, RITES, Airports Authority of India, and multiple state departments, earning credibility for quality execution, safety compliance, and on-time delivery.

From its early beginnings, SCIPL has demonstrated steady and scalable growth. Its annual turnover increased from Rs 331 crore in 2017–18 to Rs 640 crore in 2024–25, reflecting expanding execution capacity and sustained momentum across complex, multi-location public-sector projects. Today, the organisation is supported by a workforce of over 250 professionals, including engineers, architects, supervisors, and technical specialists, backed by modern construction technologies and robust project management systems.

A significant phase of expansion began post-2011, when SCIPL broadened its outlook beyond domestic markets. Building on the foundation established by the founder, Ramavtar, the company’s growth trajectory was carried forward under the leadership of Ankit Goel. During this phase, SCIPL strengthened its pan-India footprint while also extending operations internationally, maintaining uniform quality standards and a strong focus on safety across geographies.

Sustainability has become an integral part of SCIPL’s construction philosophy. The company has consistently adopted curing compound technology at project sites, significantly reducing water consumption during construction without passing additional costs to clients. Through these practices, SCIPL is targeting savings of nearly 16 crore litres of water by 2030, aligning its execution approach with national environmental priorities. This leadership commitment to socially responsible infrastructure was recently recognised at the ET Industry Changemakers platform by The Times of India, where Ram Avtar received the Excellence in Social Change award.

Equally central to SCIPL’s journey is its people-first culture. The company’s Annual Day 2025 was marked by a two-day internal programme in New Delhi, bringing together employees from multiple project locations. The event featured engagement activities, team sports, and Long-Term Service Awards recognising employees with 5 to 25 years of service, reinforcing the belief that enduring infrastructure is built by committed people.

As SCIPL approaches five decades in India’s infrastructure sector, it remains focused on leadership-led execution, sustainable construction practices, and long-term people-driven growth, continuing to align its capabilities with the country’s evolving public infrastructure needs.
