Highway Infrastructure Secures Rs 154.6 Crore NHAI Contract for Toll Operations On Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway

Highway Infrastructure Ltd (HIL) has won a Rs 154.60 crore contract from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to operate, manage and maintain three toll plazas on the Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway. The company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it has received a Letter of Acceptance for the Moti Naroli, Ena and Gandevi fee plazas located in Gujarat.

The toll plazas fall between the 190 km and 292 km stretch of the expressway, forming part of the eight-lane, access-controlled corridor connecting Vadodara and Mumbai. Under the terms of the agreement, HIL will oversee toll collection at the Moti Naroli fee plaza and ensure maintenance of related public amenities, including toilet facilities. The contract stipulates a daily remittance of Rs 1.71 crore and will be executed over a period of 90 days.

The Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway is an important segment of the 1,350-km Delhi–Mumbai Expressway network, a flagship road project aimed at transforming connectivity between northern and western India. The corridor is designed to reduce travel time between Vadodara and Mumbai from approximately nine to ten hours to about four and a half hours, significantly enhancing passenger and freight movement.

The route links key industrial centres in Gujarat and Maharashtra and integrates with major logistics infrastructure, including the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor. Additionally, the upcoming Morbe–Kalamboli link will improve access to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, bolstering cargo movement in the Mumbai region.

Commenting on the development, Arun Kumar Jain, Managing Director, Highway Infrastructure Ltd said, “This corridor is set to redefine travel and logistics across western India, and our participation further strengthens HIL’s position as a trusted national operator in high-speed, access-controlled highway ecosystems”.
