Inside Karjat’s Unique 100-Foot Bridge House That Has Captivated The Internet

A remarkable home near Karjat is drawing widespread attention online for its extraordinary architecture. Designed to resemble a suspension bridge stretching across the landscape, the distinctive residence combines modern design with natural surroundings. The unusual property gained popularity after a video tour posted on February 27 by content creator Priyam Saraswat on Instagram showcased the home’s innovative design and layout.

Located just outside Mumbai, the house offers a living experience unlike most conventional residences. Built as a 100-foot-long structure inspired by a suspension bridge, the home stretches elegantly across the landscape. Its exterior uses natural materials such as thatch and mud, allowing the structure to blend seamlessly into the surrounding greenery. The curved architectural form not only defines the exterior appearance but also shapes the interior spaces.

The outer shell is created using overlapping layers of thatch and mud, giving the house a textured surface and a cocoon-like look. This design continues beneath the structure as well, enhancing the impression that the house is gently suspended above the water and forest below.

The entrance to the home is on the upper level, where visitors find two bedrooms along with bathrooms, a kitchen and a dining area. One of the highlights of this level is a dining space overlooking a triangular-shaped pool, which adds a calming visual element to the design. At the centre of the bridge-like structure lies the living room, finished with reclaimed wood that brings warmth to the interiors. An open oculus in the roof allows rainwater to fall through the centre of the home and flow downward, creating a dramatic connection between the indoors and nature.

The lower level contains two more bedrooms, including a spacious master suite. Large glass openings frame views of the surrounding forest, filling the interiors with natural light and strengthening the home’s link with the natural environment.

The video quickly gained traction online, crossing two million views and generating numerous reactions from viewers impressed by the design. One user wrote, “It’s not a house. It’s a masterpiece art,” while another commented, “This is again one of your best displays. This couple is a right example of getting closer to nature and staying grounded.”

Others praised the creativity and scale of the property. “One of the best and very different houses,” a viewer wrote, while another added, “So spacious and thoughtfully designed, it feels like nature itself invited this home to belong here.”

Some users also highlighted how unusual such a property is near Mumbai given the region’s real estate pressures. “Impressive for a city like Mumbai, considering the real estate rates and space constraints,” one comment read. Another user wrote, “I never thought a house like this could exist. Amazing work,” while someone else said they were “still wondering how he got such a creative idea.”
