Tesla has marked a new milestone in its India expansion by opening its first in-mall electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Nexus Seawoods mall in Navi Mumbai. The facility represents a significant step in strengthening the company’s charging infrastructure in the country, particularly in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Located within the basement parking area of the mall, the charging station is equipped with a total of eight charging points. This includes four high-speed DC superchargers and four AC destination chargers, catering to different charging needs of Tesla vehicle owners. The setup is designed to offer convenience to users who can charge their vehicles while visiting the mall.
With the addition of this facility, Tesla’s charging network in India now spans four locations—Gurugram, Delhi, Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai. The network includes a mix of fast-charging and destination charging options, aimed at supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
The Navi Mumbai station features advanced charging technology capable of delivering a substantial driving range within a short time, depending on the vehicle model and charging conditions. This is expected to make EV usage more practical for daily commuters as well as long-distance travellers.
In addition to the charging infrastructure, Tesla has also introduced a temporary retail setup within the mall. This space allows visitors to explore Tesla vehicles up close and access detailed product information, offering a glimpse into the company’s offerings for the Indian market.
The launch of this in-mall charging station reflects Tesla’s broader strategy to expand its presence and build a robust EV ecosystem in India, making electric mobility more accessible and convenient for users.
