MHADA Lottery 2026 Sees Strong Response With Over 16,400 Applications For 2,640 Homes

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority lottery 2026 has witnessed a strong response, with more than 16,400 applications received within two weeks for 2,640 affordable homes across Mumbai.

According to official data, MHADA recorded 16,455 applications as of April 12, along with 8,529 earnest money deposits (EMDs) submitted by prospective homebuyers. The application window remains open until April 29, while online EMD payments can be made until April 30 through RTGS and NEFT. The results of the lottery draw are scheduled to be announced on May 15.

Out of the total homes on offer, 1,762 units, accounting for nearly 66 per cent, are currently under construction. These projects are located in areas such as Vikhroli, Goregaon, and Borivali. Among these, 128 units are in Borivali East and 85 in Goregaon West, while the remaining apartments are situated in Kanamwar Nagar and Vikhroli.

The price range of the homes varies widely across income categories. The most expensive unit is located in Tardeo, priced at Rs 6.82 crore under the High Income Group (HIG) category. The most affordable option is an Economic Weaker Section (EWS) unit in Mankhurd, priced at over Rs 29 lakh. Several homes are also available in the Rs 2 crore to Rs 4 crore range.

Of the total units, 47 apartments have been reserved for sitting and former Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The highest-priced apartments, including those in Tardeo, fall under this reserved category.

The lottery reflects continued demand for affordable housing in Mumbai, despite a mix of under-construction inventory and a broad pricing spectrum across different income groups.
