BEST on Sunday announced that it will run airport AC buses for south Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai 24×7 from Monday.
“This is being done on public demand. We are providing AC electric buses which are comfortable and although the fares are premium, they are still cheaper than other modes of AC transport available in the city,” said BEST general manager Lokesh Chandra. Fliers arriving at T1 and T2 international airports can take these buses which are cheaper than aggregator cabs or Kaali Peeli taxis. For example, the airport to south Mumbai /Gateway of India/ Backbay has fare of Rs 125 for Nehru Planetarium, Rs 150 for CSMT, and Rs 175 for Gateway of India and Hotel Trident/ Nariman Point, and for Cuffe Parade. Similarly, fares for airport to Vashi is Rs 150 and to Thane Rs 150, an official said.
