Mumbai Airport Ranks Among World’s Top 10 Airports For Third Year Running

July 24, 2025: The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai has once again brought honour to India by securing a position among the world’s top 10 international airports in the prestigious Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2025.

With an impressive score of 84.23, it stands as the only Indian airport on the list for the third consecutive year—an achievement that underscores the country’s growing reputation in global aviation standards, customer satisfaction, and technological advancement.

The Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards are determined through a global survey involving approximately 180,000 readers, who collectively cast over 650,000 votes. The rankings evaluate airports on several parameters, including passenger experience, quality of dining and amenities, architectural design and innovation, and ease of navigation.

This recognition not only places Mumbai firmly on the global aviation map but also highlights India’s competence in managing high air traffic volumes while maintaining service quality. The accolade is expected to enhance tourism, trade, and international investment, offering a significant boost to the country’s economy.

CSMIA spans across 1,900 acres and handled over 55 million passengers in the financial year 2024–25, with nearly 1,000 aircraft movements daily. It provides direct connectivity to 54 international and 67 domestic destinations.

The airport has embraced cutting-edge technologies, such as DigiYatra and FTI-TTP for biometric and paperless travel, a new Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), 68 e-gates for quicker access, and self-service kiosks for check-in and digital payments.

Notably, CSMIA is the first Indian airport—and only the third globally—to achieve Level 5 ACI Customer Experience Accreditation. It has also been named Best Airport (Over 40 Million Passengers) in Asia-Pacific for eight consecutive years.

CSMIA is operated by Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), with Adani Airport Holdings holding a 74% stake and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) owning the remaining 26%.
