September 10, 2025: The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) has directed developer Satish Dattani of Kalindi Estate Developers to halt the sale of flats in the free-sale component of the Bhagatsingh Nagar Rahivasi Sangh project at Goregaon (West). The directive follows allegations of serious irregularities.
The order, issued on September 1 by the executive engineer of SRA’s P-South ward, cites a note from the deputy collector and competent authority. The note alleges that 229 rehabilitation flats were allotted to non-eligible or out-of-scheme tenants and instructed that these units be counted in the saleable built-up area.
An inquiry has now been initiated into these and other suspected violations. Pending its outcome, the developer has been barred from proceeding with flat sales. Dattani was unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.
