Maharashtra Govt And Lodha Partner For Mega Rs 30,000 Cr Data Centre Real Estate Project

September 16, 2025: Lodha Developers Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to develop a large-scale data centre park in Palava, marking one of the state’s biggest digital infrastructure initiatives.

The project entails a proposed investment of Rs 30,000 crore and will create a 2 GW capacity data centre hub designed to meet the surging demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital services in India. Lodha will serve as the master developer, providing world-class infrastructure to both global and domestic operators looking to establish data centres in the region.

This ambitious project is expected to generate around 6,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing significantly to economic growth and skill development. It also positions Maharashtra as a major player in the global data economy, catering to both local enterprises and multinational corporations seeking reliable and scalable digital infrastructure.

The initiative falls under the state government’s Green Integrated Data Centre Parks policy, which emphasizes sustainability and energy efficiency. Maharashtra has identified integrated data centres as a key driver of industrial and technological expansion, with plans to set up three major parks across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). These will promote eco-friendly infrastructure while attracting large-scale investment from leading technology firms.

For Lodha, this marks a strategic step into new-age asset classes, complementing its legacy in real estate with projects that align with India’s evolving digital needs. By enabling world-class infrastructure and supporting digital transformation, the Palava project reflects the convergence of technology, sustainable growth, and real estate innovation.

The MoU not only strengthens Maharashtra’s position as a hub for digital infrastructure but also underscores India’s long-term vision of becoming a global leader in the digital economy.
