Even as builders find a lot of traction among flat owners to redevelop prime residential properties, some housing societies are treading a different path-self redevelopment, a collective effort by members of cooperative housing societies to rebuild their homes without involvin developers, is slowly gaining ground. The task is onerous, obstacles many, but a few succes stories are filtering in.
