Godrej Properties Launches ‘SAHYOG’ Mental Health & Wellbeing Initiative For Construction Workers

Godrej Properties Ltd has rolled out a comprehensive mental health and well-being programme for construction workers across all its project sites, marking a significant step towards improving labour welfare in the real estate sector. The initiative, titled ‘Godrej SAHYOG’, is designed as a structured support system focused on the psychological and emotional well-being of on-site workers.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the company said it has launched the programme after completing a six-month pilot across six construction sites in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Following the pilot’s outcomes, Godrej Properties is now expanding the initiative to 79 identified construction sites nationwide, covering nearly 30,000 workers.

The programme will be implemented across major real estate markets, including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh. It aims to address the often-overlooked mental health challenges faced by construction workers, who operate under physically demanding and high-pressure conditions.

Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairperson of Godrej Properties, highlighted the broader significance of the initiative, saying, “India’s growth is being shaped every day by millions who build our cities and infrastructure. Caring for the wellbeing of those who build the nation is not just a business responsibility; it is a societal imperative.”

The SAHYOG programme is being delivered in partnership with 1to1 Help, a professional mental health services provider. Key interventions under the initiative include monthly on-site group sessions aimed at awareness and stress management, personalised one-on-one counselling for workers requiring individual support, and a 24×7 audio-visual helpline offering counselling and crisis intervention services.

Through this initiative, Godrej Properties seeks to integrate mental health care into everyday work environments, fostering a more supportive and inclusive ecosystem for construction labour. The programme aligns with the company’s broader commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

Godrej Properties is among India’s leading real estate developers, with a strong presence across residential, commercial, and township projects nationwide.
