Maharashtra Launches Online Portal For Mumbai Property Owners To Update Records

Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday introduced a new digital platform aimed at simplifying property-related processes for Mumbai residents. The portal, epsitmumc.mahabhumi.gov.in, allows property owners—including non-resident Indians (NRIs)—to apply for name transfers and other updates to property cards from the comfort of their homes.

With this initiative, applicants can complete the entire process online without visiting government offices. The system also provides real-time SMS notifications, keeping users informed about the progress of their applications through their login accounts on the portal.

At present, the facility is available only for property owners in Mumbai city and does not yet extend to suburban areas or other parts of Maharashtra.

Highlighting the scope of the platform, Bawankule said, “For the first time, 45 types of changes are now available online to citizens in Mumbai City district. The facilities include mutations arising from purchase deeds, inheritance, gift deeds, leases, mortgages, road setbacks, reservations, land acquisition, and various other categories. Even if someone faces issues, there is a help desk available at the collector office, Mumbai city,” Bawankule said.

Officials noted that the portal is designed to eliminate the need for physical interaction, allowing users to submit applications without standing in queues or making repeated visits to offices. The digitised system aims to improve transparency and efficiency, ensuring faster processing of requests.

Key features include round-the-clock access, a dedicated dashboard for tracking application status, and automated updates at every stage of the process. By streamlining property record management, the government aims to reduce delays and enhance citizen convenience.

The initiative marks a step towards greater digitisation of land and property services in Mumbai, making administrative processes more accessible and user-friendly for property owners.
