Runwal Realty To Set Up Three Schools Across MMR, Launches First IB Campus In Chembur

Runwal Realty has announced plans to establish three schools across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), beginning with an International Baccalaureate (IB) campus in Chembur. The initiative will later expand to Mulund and Thane as part of the developer’s plan to integrate educational infrastructure with its residential projects.

The Chembur campus will be the first school under the initiative and is designed to offer an IB curriculum that provides an internationally recognised education. The project is expected to strengthen educational facilities in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs, where residential and infrastructure development has accelerated in recent years.

Planned within a green environment, the school will have a ground-plus-seven-storey structure. The campus will include a playground of more than 12,000 sq ft, along with dedicated sports facilities, technology-enabled classrooms, and extracurricular activities. According to the company, the institution has been designed to support both academic learning and overall student development.

The school is expected to cater to students from Chembur and surrounding neighbourhoods, complementing the area’s growing residential population. Runwal Realty also plans to establish similar institutions in Mulund and Thane, creating a network of schools across its key development locations in MMR.

Commenting on the initiative, Saurabh Runwal said education is an important part of community development and that the proposed schools are intended to create long-term social infrastructure alongside the company’s residential projects.

He added that the initiative aims to improve access to quality education while contributing to the development of communities where the company has a presence.

The education initiative aligns with Runwal Realty’s broader strategy of developing integrated townships and mixed-use projects that combine residential, commercial and social infrastructure. By incorporating educational institutions within its developments, the company aims to create self-sustained communities that offer residents access to essential services, while supporting the long-term growth of emerging residential hubs across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
