Adani Navbharat Developers Private Limited (ANDPL), the special purpose vehicle (SPV) implementing the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP), has introduced an artificial intelligence-powered platform called Dharavi Didi to provide residents with round-the-clock access to official redevelopment information.
According to the company, the AI-powered virtual assistant has been designed to answer residents’ queries related to surveys, eligibility, documentation, rehabilitation and other aspects of the redevelopment process. The initiative aims to complement the company’s on-ground outreach efforts by making verified information available anytime.
“The initiative reflects ANDPL’s evolving engagement with Dharavikars, pairing its extensive on-ground outreach with technology to make official information more accessible, transparent and inclusive. Dharavi Didi extends that engagement beyond the field, ensuring trusted information is available whenever residents need it,” the company said in a statement.
The platform can be accessed through video calls, voice calls and WhatsApp, and currently supports Hindi, Marathi and English. ANDPL said support for Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati will be added in the coming months to cater to Dharavi’s diverse population.
“Whether residents want to understand surveys, eligibility, required documents or project updates, Dharavi Didi is available round the clock to provide clear answers in a simple and conversational manner. Alongside our ongoing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) initiatives, this is another step towards making authentic information easily accessible to every Dharavikar. Residents no longer have to wait for office hours to receive answers from official sources,” a company official said.
“Our objective is to ensure that every resident has direct access to accurate and verified information. Dharavi Didi is designed to answer questions with clarity, build confidence through transparency and help residents make informed decisions throughout the redevelopment journey,” the official added.
The company said the AI assistant has been developed as an easy-to-use digital companion, particularly for first-time users, and will continue to evolve by offering new services and project updates as redevelopment progresses.
The Dharavi Redevelopment Project, being executed by ANDPL, is among the world’s largest urban renewal initiatives. The project aims to rehabilitate nearly 10 lakh residents by constructing around 1.25-1.5 lakh homes within timelines set by the Maharashtra government.
