PWD Minister Shivendrasinh Bhonsle Orders Swift Repairs Of Rain-Damaged Roads In Palghar

Maharashtra Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Shivendrasinh Bhonsle has instructed officials to immediately begin repairs of roads affected by heavy rainfall in Palghar district. He also reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects and directed authorities to ensure quality construction, timely completion and public safety.

According to PTI, Bhonsle, along with legislators and senior administrative officials, inspected several important road stretches across Palghar on Saturday to assess the condition of key transport routes after recent rains, as per a statement issued by the district administration.

After the inspection, the minister conducted a review meeting to evaluate the extent of rain-related damage, the status of ongoing road development works, pending projects and the required repair measures.

“The state government is fully committed to elevating the quality of road infrastructure in Palghar district,” Bhonsle said during the meeting, as cited by PTI.

The minister also instructed PWD officials to maintain strict quality standards during repair and construction activities, complete projects within the prescribed timelines and ensure that safety concerns of commuters are addressed on priority.

Officials were asked to speed up restoration work on damaged road sections to improve connectivity and minimise inconvenience for residents and commuters across the district.

Palghar has witnessed infrastructure challenges during periods of intense rainfall, with several roads impacted due to waterlogging, surface damage and related issues. The repair drive is expected to focus on restoring affected routes and strengthening road infrastructure ahead of future weather conditions.

The minister’s review also covered the progress of ongoing PWD projects in the district, with emphasis on timely execution and adherence to approved construction standards.

The Maharashtra government has been focusing on improving road connectivity and upgrading infrastructure across districts through various development initiatives. The latest directions aim to ensure that damaged roads in Palghar are restored quickly while maintaining durability and safety standards.
