NMIA Strengthens Mumbai, Navi Mumbai & Pune Connectivity Ahead Of Winter Schedule

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is expanding its public transport and last-mile connectivity network ahead of the Winter Schedule 2026-27, with additional bus, taxi, autorickshaw, car rental and shuttle services planned across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune and the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The airport, operated by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), is preparing for the winter flight schedule from October 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027. As part of the preparations, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will introduce e-Shivai electric bus services from NMIA on October 7.

The initial routes will connect the airport with Dadar, Borivali and Pune. Tickets will cost Rs 170 for Dadar East, Rs 210 for Borivali and Rs 450 for Pune. Children below 12 and women using a National Common Mobility Card will receive a 50% fare concession.

The Dadar service will travel through Sion and Atal Setu, while the Borivali route will connect CSMIA Terminal 1, Bandra and Atal Setu. Two daily Pune services are planned, with MSRTC also targeting connections to Thane and Nashik by mid-November.

Private operator Chalo Bus currently runs 21 daily services between NMIA and Marol, Bandra, Dadar and the World Trade Centre in Colaba, with additional capacity planned during peak periods.

Navi Mumbai and Mumbai Airport Links

Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) is operating seven dedicated routes, A1 to A7, connecting Terminal 1 with Kharkopar, Targhar, Belapur, Nerul, Panvel, Khandeshwar and the Airport Project Office. Belapur-Nerul services run every 15-20 minutes during peak hours, while links to Vashi and Panvel are planned.

The airport is also strengthening private mobility options. Uber Go and Uber Premier services will be available alongside Uber Auto, prepaid taxis, autorickshaws and rental cars. Bharat Taxi is scheduled to begin operations on October 10 with a fleet of up to 40 vehicles.

An hourly inter-airport shuttle between NMIA and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is also being introduced. Cityflo, Aarya and Chalo will operate the service.

Overall, NMIA’s ground transport network is being expanded to 4,594 vehicles and services, including 3,787 app-based taxis, 184 rental cars, 171 autorickshaws and 547 buses. Improved signage, passenger assistance and dedicated mobility zones are also being added to streamline movement around the airport.
