Swastika Infra Wins Rs 615.76 Crore MSEDCL Contract To Upgrade Bhandup’s Power Network

Swastika Infra Ltd has secured a contract worth approximately Rs 615.76 crore, inclusive of taxes, from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to develop and strengthen electricity distribution infrastructure in Mumbai’s Bhandup Zone.

The project will involve building new substations, installing high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) lines, setting up distribution transformers and upgrading existing network infrastructure. The scope also includes underground cabling, renovation work, geographical information system (GIS) mapping, asset tagging and associated activities.

The company will undertake surveys, design, engineering, equipment supply, installation, testing and commissioning, alongside the necessary civil and electrical works. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the date of the Letter of Award.

HT lines operate at voltages exceeding 1,000 volts, while LT lines carry electricity at 1,000 volts or below. The proposed works aim to improve the distribution network’s capacity and strengthen electricity infrastructure across the Bhandup Zone.

According to the company’s announcement, the contract represents the largest single order secured by Swastika Infra so far. Valued at around 1.2 times its reported revenue of Rs 504 crore in FY26, the project also marks the company’s entry into Maharashtra’s power distribution infrastructure market.

The assignment is being funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Following the contract award, Swastika Infra’s unexecuted order book is expected to reach approximately Rs 1,400 crore, with the company operating across nine states.

The development comes after the company’s recent initial public offering (IPO), through which it raised nearly Rs 130 crore.

Successful execution of the Bhandup project will require coordination across procurement, engineering, installation and commissioning activities. Given the scale of the assignment and its location within an established urban area, timely implementation will depend on effective planning and coordination with MSEDCL.

The project’s progress will be closely linked to the company’s ability to deliver the required infrastructure within the stipulated schedule, while expanding its presence in the power distribution sector.
