Havare Properties’ Suresh Havare Recognised For Housing 45,000 Customers, Focus On Middle-Class Families: BJP leader Pravin Dareka

Pravin Darekar Praises Havare Properties' Dr Suresh Havare For Providing Affordable Homes To 45,000 Customers, Especially Marathi Families

Mumbai: Maharashtra Self-Redevelopment Authority chairman and BJP group leader Pravin Darekar has commended Havare Properties chairman Dr Suresh Havare for making affordable housing accessible to around 45,000 customers, particularly Marathi families. He highlighted the developer’s contribution to middle-class homeownership while speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Intelligentia Apex project in Chembur.

The event, held at Tilak Nagar, was attended by former MLA Suryakant Dalvi, corporator Sushma Sawant, Dr Suresh Havare, Amit Havare, Amar Havare, Sanjay Havare and members of the housing society.

Darekar noted that Havare had established a substantial presence in the construction sector without significant financial backing. He said the developer had prioritised delivering quality homes to middle-income households rather than concentrating primarily on commercially lucrative projects. Darekar added that Havare’s commitment to helping Marathi families own homes had been central to his achievements.

He also acknowledged the company’s efforts to engage directly with housing society members, understand their concerns and address difficulties through coordination.

Discussing Mumbai’s self-redevelopment movement, Darekar pointed out that thousands of buildings across the city were in poor condition. He said he had approached the Chief Minister to encourage self-redevelopment, with the objective of ensuring that Marathi families were not compelled to leave Mumbai because of redevelopment-related challenges.

Under this model, housing societies can manage redevelopment independently, supported financially by the Mumbai District Central Cooperative Bank and through incentives offered by the state government. Darekar said the Chief Minister had backed the initiative and introduced measures to make the process easier.

Reiterating Havare Properties’ contribution, Darekar said the company had delivered homes to approximately 45,000 customers. He maintained that developers who focus on affordable housing and serve middle-class families deserve recognition and encouragement, even when their profit margins are comparatively modest.
