The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to extend the ‘Thane – Bhiwandi – Kalyan Metro 5’ route to Ulhasnagar via Khadakpada. Kalyan – Khadakpada and Khadakpada- Ulhasnagar 7.7 km extended route will be constructed in two phases
A consultant has to be appointed to prepare a comprehensive plan for this route. The proposal in this regard will be placed for approval in the upcoming meeting of the MMRDA authority. A metro network of 337 km length is being woven in Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region and one of the metro lines currently under construction is ‘Metro 5’
