On Wednesday, some Dharavi residents in Mumbai urged that the Maharashtra government take charge of the slum sprawl redevelopment project.
Local activists and the Aam Aadmi Party participated in an agitation at a location.
“The biggest land swindle is in Dharavi. We want a brand-new survey on the qualification standard.We demand that all existing buildings be deemed suitable and that tenants be allocated 405 square foot homes in Dharavi. 59,000 structures were found in a survey done in 2008, but this figure has already surpassed one lakh, according to Aam Aadmi Party activist Sandip Katake.
